The 4th European ISP Forum, was the largest annual gathering of industry executives and leaders from various service provision industries - managed services, storage, hosting, Internet access, application and web services. The event was well attended, drawing delegates from across Europe and the US to discuss the direction of such key industries of our economy.

An impressive line up of speakers, including the founders of Ariadne Capital Julie Meyer and Bundeep Singh Rangar, gave interesting and insightful presentations about the industry. Speakers, including Wayne Lochner - one of Ariadne Capital's investors, discussed the micro and macro picture, looking at the current market, and also made suggestions and predictions for the future, proposing ways of devising new models and revenue streams.

Other highlights included the Ariadne Capital cocktail party, a relaxed and informal networking opportunity with champagne draw won by Daniel of the Kendra Initiative, and the European ISP Awards Ceremony, presented by Julie Meyer to reward excellence in the Industry. The results were:

Ariadne Capital's research team attended the conference in order to gather data from top-level delegates, and have produced a highly referenced and critical industry report. Research was collated through a series of qualitative and quantitative methods involving personal interviews and survey methods.

By surveying the major players present at the ISP Forum 2001, the report pinpoints significant trends, business and competitive strategies employed by old and new industry players; as well as identifying where the opportunities may lie. An executive summary of the results is being distributed to 60,000 individuals by IIR, the world's largest conference company, who organised the ISP forum.
