Download cradle included
• Quick picture downloads

Disadvantages
• Limited
battery life
• Quite bulky design
• Difficult to use buttons

The Kodak EasyShare DX3215 zoom camera is a great product for anybody who wants to get into digital photography, but does not have a vast knowledge of the subject.  The product includes an easy-to-use camera cradle for downloading and charging the camera and makes the complete experience of digital photography easy enough for even the biggest technophobe.

Specifications
• 1.3-megapixel CCD (1280 x 960 picture resolution) up to 20x15cm pictures
• 4X Zoom (2X optical, 2X digital)
• Automatic, red-eye reduction and fill-in flash functions
• MultimediaCard (MMC) and SecureDisk (SD) expansion slots for extra picture storage
• Auto exposure, shutter speeds of 1/4 and 1/1000 of a second
• Close-up mode to 25cm

Set-up
The EasyShare DX3215 camera and docking system "plug and plays" into your computer's USB port and comes fully equipped with an easy to install driver and application disk. This is compatible with various computer operating systems including Windows and the MAC OS.
There is also an easy to follow manual with step-by-step instructions to help you connect your camera correctly.

Aesthetics
Kodak have done quite well with the overall look of the DX3215, although I think it is slightly bulky.  The features make it feel very solid, strong and reliable. The camera and cradle are styled nicely together, and the consistent use of shapes, colours, materials and textures work very well together.

Product testing
The Kodak EasyShare DX3215 is the "point and shoot" camera of the digital world.  Taking normal pictures is very easy, but there is a slight delay in pressing the button and taking the picture.  This requires some getting used to.  There is also a flash unit on the camera, which should be useful, but I found I preferred not to use it as it made peoples' faces too bright in the final photo.

Once you have your pictures they can then be transferred onto the computers hard drive at a touch of a button.  The digital camera can store up to 80 pictures in its own internal memory and further memory cards can be added, giving you more space for more pictures.  Navigating through your pictures before you transfer them can be difficult, due to the buttons being quite small.  It is possible to review and delete your pictures though the small display at the rear of the camera.  This allows unwanted picture to be deleted, freeing up valuable memory.
