BetBrain.com - Odds on your side
by Paul Flanagan

BetBrain (www.betbrain.com) operates one of the world's leading odds comparison services allowing users to bet at the best odds in the sports betting market. The structural characteristics and inefficiencies of this global market mean that clear arbitrage opportunities regularly arise and that the returns from betting at the best odds can be twice that of betting at the worst odds. BetBrain delivers the capability to capitalise on this by:

1 Extracting odds from over 75 sports book and betting exchanges.

2 Analysing and comparing the odds.

3 Publishing the odds on www.betbrain.com and on affiliate sites.

The business has approximately 135,000 unique visitors per month generating 2.4M page views and 2,700 revenue-creating click throughs per day. BetBrain is profitable.

The Opportunity

The global, online-betting industry is going through a development process similar to that of the financial services industry. The reason for this is that the products are virtually identical e.g. a call-option on Microsoft shares has the same structure as a bet for Manchester United to win the Premier League. The difference is that the betting industry is telescoping what took the financial services industry hundreds of years into only a handful.

We have already seen the creation of bookmakers, betting exchanges and information providers analogous to market makers, exchanges and information providers in the financial markets.

BetBrain is proposing to build the remaining logical market components:

  • Real Time Information Provision - the betting market equivalent to Reuters and Bloomberg

  • Trading Company - the betting market equivalent to arbitrage and proprietary trading desks.

  • Retail Brokerage - the betting market equivalent to Charles Schwab and eTrade

  • BetBrain is currently active in the first area, with four years of operation and experience. In building the new units, BetBrain will exploit extensive and well-established industry relations and technical know how from this operation. All three opportunities are real, viable and eminently profitable.

Ariadne Capital is assisting BetBrain to raise capital so as to exploit this opportunity. If you are interested to know more please contact Paul Flanagan, Executive In Residence, at Ariadne Capital (betbrain@ariadnecapital.com)
