Saw-You
is looking for an experienced, creative and entrepreneurial
technical leader to join the management team. The
VP of Engineering will oversee and contribute to
designing and developing mobile and Internet software
and enabling technology across multiple networks
and platforms.

online and mobile other self.” Saw-You drives downloads
and purchases via its own web site ( www.weeworld.com ),
MSN, Motorola and Friends Reunited, among others.
Started in 1991, Saw-You received $4.5M in venture
capital funding from Benchmark Capital in April 2005.
The business has signed a number of key partnerships
and will be executing those and other exciting initiatives
over the coming years. “Red Herring” magazine recognised
Saw-You as a 2005 Top 100 Company. The recently-recruited
CEO, Celia Francis, has in-depth expertise in consumer
marketing in a variety of technology areas including
mobile, software, search and the Internet.
Required
skills and experience: You
must be able to think strategically and get involved
with day-to-day technology development and deployment
to produce both web and mobile applications and
a carrier-grade infrastructure that integrates
disparate systems, including MMS, WAP-push, SMS,
mobile billing and PSMS. You will design the architecture
and have a team of developers report to you. You
will oversee and verify the quality of the developers'
work and ensure it runs seamlessly on the Saw-You
Internet and mobile phone partners' platforms.
You will mentor the developers and enable them
to grow individually and as a team.
You should
have 5 to 10 years of technical experience working
within the mobile Internet, messaging, communications
and internet services spaces.
Skill requirements:
- Large scale technical project management
- Mobile Network expertise, including carrier grade
testing
- Experience in Java/J2ME/C++/Symbian is helpful
- Design expertise
in handset software – Java/Symbian
or brew
- Software management skills
- Driven, entrepreneurial mind-set
- Consumer and global telecoms technology (/I-mode)
understanding
- Ability to assess technical strategy.
- Present to a technical or business audience
Compensation: Commensurate with
experience (salary plus stock options).
