Can your internet use be safe and private? - Yes, Thanks to Ajaz Ahmed’s ‘Browzar’
Having secretly just booked the perfect mini-break online for Valentines Day, you walk away from the computer and in seconds, your surprise is no longer a secret... your partner jumped on to check their email, saw your browser history and sadly, your surprise is ruined!
Ajaz Ahmed, co-founder of Freeserve and friend of Ariadne Capital has developed a privacy internet browser, Browzar, which allows users to search and surf without leaving traces of their internet usage. This is particularly helpful for people accessing sensitive webmail accounts or information in internet cafés or to save users from embarrassing moments of being "caught online" through auto-complete and browsing history.
Browzar is a privacy browser that is so small that it only takes a couple of seconds to download and doesn’t even require any installation, just download a go. Simply visit any website and when you close Browzar down it will automatically clean up that session, no cookies, no web cache, no temporary web files, no history, no active X files, its very simple. Browzar is an Internet Explorer (IE) shell which means that it we can keep the size down to a very small file, you can use it on any PC where you want to keep your browsing private, at work, at home, at a friends house or even an internet café. You can keep the file on your desktop or download a fresh copy every time you want to use it.
The Browzar website has some humorous anecdotes of people who have wished they used a safe solution such as Browzar (http://www.browzar.com/stories/index.html). Internet Explorer provides "user friendly" auto complete and history listing which can at times be rather user-unfriendly as a number of stories show, "I just tried auto-complete on my wife’s computer and got: Hitler, Nazi marching, air raid, blitzkrieg, infantry German, Nazi rally, Wehmacht infantry, Wehrmach rally... If she wasn’t a history teacher I’d be quite worried."
