Ariadne Capital
Names Five Executives-in-Residence

LONDON -- Ariadne Capital, a pan-European venture group, said it has added Roger Ashby, David Johnson, Francesca
Lahiguera, Duncan Norris, and Erik Wenngren as
executives-in-residence. Each will have a different focus. The
firm now has eight EIRs.
Mr. Johnson will focus on sales
development and will assist clients with the identification of
appropriate sales channels, the development of sales and marketing
strategies, and the strengthening of sales forces. His work
experience includes a position as a European director at a Fortune
1000 company, and a European marketing role at a small Asian
software company
Ms.Lahiguera, whose focus is executive
search and interim management, has worked with clients including
Xerox, Vivendi, Easynet, Le Figaro, and Alcatel with talent
development needs. She began her career in executive search as
a member of the IT practice at Heidrick and Struggles. Prior to
her career in executive search, she spent 12 years in software
sales and marketing with Interleaf, Informix, and Sun
Microsystems. Ms. Lahiguera is based in Paris and serves on the
board of the Paris Professional Women's Network.
Mr.
Norris, whose focus is corporate venturing/IT services, has
experience in technical sales support as well as consulting for a
U.S.-based computer firm, an Australian telecommunications
corporation, and several financial services companies in the U.K.
He also served as CEO of Royal and Sun Alliance's corporate
venturing division, Global Ventures.
Mr. Wenngren will
focus on capital markets. He has more than 15 years of experience
in securities and capital markets, most recently serving as global
head of equities for Danske Securities, where he was
responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting, recruitment and
daily management of equity sales, trading, research, and
syndication.
Mr. Ashby will focus on startup technology and
intellectual property. He has experience in starting technology
businesses, particularly those arising from university research.
He began his career in the petrochemical industry as a project
manager responsible for turnkey construction contracts and was
later appointed development director of Renwick, a diversified
engineering group. He also co-founded Dove Energy Limited, a
company that used new low-cost technology to acquire declining oil
reserves and recover additional outputs.
Ariadne Capital is
a European venture capital group that invests in early-stage
private companies and advises later- stage private and public
companies undergrowing significant growth or change. The firm
focuses on enabling technologies, life services, communications,
and software.
Ariadne portfolio companies include F.I.T.,
which develops personal information management applications; and
tenUK, a lifestyle and home-management service
provider.
