Julie Meyer has been building platforms for the financing of entrepreneurship and innovation for 20 years. An INSEAD MBA where she also served on the Board of Directors and was named one of their top 50 alumni, Julie has backed some of Europe’s most important technology start-ups including Skype at the seed stage; the first peer to peer lending deal in the world – Zopa; Monitise – the early mobile banking success which achieved a market capitalisation of £1 bn; and many more.
She has been given an MBE in the UK for her services to entrepreneurship, an honorary doctorate by Warwick University for the development of Ecosystem Economics® – the Digital Playbook, and was a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum.
She is the founder of EntrepreneurCountry, the community of early adopters, the Managing Partner of the Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs Fund, the CEO of Ariadne Capital Group Limited, and on the Board of Vestergaard, the for profit humanitarian development firm. She pioneered the ‘Entrepreneurs Backing Entrepreneurs’ model for the financing of entrepreneurship when she founded Ariadne Capital in 2000 with 62 leading technology and private equity founders who backed her from all over the world.
She has worked in the technology industry since 1989 bringing standards to life – having started early on the PowerPC Initiative, and then launching First Tuesday, which many credit for igniting the Internet generation in Europe in 1998.
She works tiredly in Europe to back the best and brightest entrepreneurs, and to create a world where society is organised around the entrepreneur.
Her first book, published by Little Brown, became an award winner, Welcome to EntrepreneurCountry, and she is living between Malta and London, but is a native of California.
Malcolm H. Ross is an independent consultant with 43 years’ experience advising, challenging and coaching C-Level telecom industry executives. Based in Malta, his assignments take him 3 weeks per month throughout Europe, Middle-East, Asia and occasionally N. America. Until July 1999 he was Vice-President in, Arthur D. Little’s worldwide Electronics, IT and Telecoms Practice. His experience includes market entry strategies, boosting competitive position, spectrum acquisition/auctions, transactions & M&A, new ventures.
He has demonstrated he can perform, integrate into teams and stimulate across a wide range of national, cultural and corporate environments. He has worked over long periods on projects in: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK and the USA, He has lead projects for national Government departments and Regulators as well as the European Commission. He has worked for both vendors and operators – large multinationals, SMEs and start-ups.
Jean-François who worked in South Africa, the Czech Republic, USA, Luxembourg and France, has 9 years of experience in the financial market, both as a trader and dealer on financial derivatives instruments, fixed income and currencies, and 14 years of experience in the venture capital and private equity sector in various industries such as real estate, tech, IT, renewable energies, financing, refinancing and M&As as well as being involved with the management or setting up of various type of funds in different jurisdictions, most notably Luxembourg.
Jean-François’s experience which is multi products gives him the capacity to apprehend a large panel of asset class and various industries in all situations while entertaining solid relationships at the executive level in the tech, it, real estate, investment companies and financial sector throughout Europe.
Janice Mercieca is the Risk Officer at Ariadne Capital Malta. Prior to joining Ariadne Capital, Janice was the Risk Officer at Portcullis Asset Management where she joined in 2015, which company was subsequently acquired by Ariadne Capital Malta.
Prior to that, Janice spent nine years working in the energy sector as a Financial Risk Manager at Enemalta, which is the main provider of electricity generation in the Maltese Islands. She was responsible for managing the corporation’s financial risks mainly in relation to commodity prices and FX rates. She was also a member and an active contributor to the corporation’s Risk Management Committee.
Janice graduated with a B.Com (Hons) degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Malta in 2005 and holds a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Leicester, UK.

Rayesh joined the companyl in 2014 as a web developer. He has a experience of working with InDesign, Photoshop, Bootsrap and PHP/MYSQL. Some of the daily task involves maintaining and reporting weekly statistics from website database, Google analytics, Social media and email database. He now manages the company wesbites.
He holds a Master’s degree in Computing & Information Systems from University of Greenwich.
